Jim Gavin says he wasn’t prepared for “completely unacceptable” online abuse

Jim Gavin says he wasn’t prepared for the negativity and abuse he and his family were subjected to on social media in the last week.

Jim Gavin criticised social media posts about him, which he described as malicious smears, that were very personal in nature.

The Fianna Fáil candidate, who was speaking on a visit to Kerry today, says when it was involving his friends he had to speak out.
