Ireland South MEP calls for change to tree-felling licence laws

An Ireland South MEP is calling for change to the tree-felling licence laws.

MEP Sean Kelly says it can currently take up to three years to get official sanction for tree-felling in Coillte forests.

He's calling for the government to change this before the forestry industry grinds to a halt.

The Fine Gael MEP adds no other EU member-state has to deal with these long delays or serial objectors.
