An information event will take place in Tarbert this afternoon about the proposed development of a 285-hectare solar farm.
The company Circal is developing the Tarmon Solar Farm in townlands across Kerry and Limerick, including East Shanaway, West Shanaway, Tarmon East, Tarmonhill, Leitrim East, and Barraougeen in Kerry.
The company says the project is currently at the design phase, and feedback from locals will help inform how the site is planned.
The information event takes place at Tarbert Community Centre, where people can attend any time between 3pm and 8pm and see the designs and chat to the project team.
The company says this solar farm would have the capacity to power around 40,000 households every year, and would create local jobs through construction, operation, and maintenance.
