Jessie Buckley’s Oscar nomination showcases that Irish talent can go all the way in the film industry.
That’s according to Áine Moriarty, who is CEO of the Irish Film and Television Academy.
The Killarney native is nominated for the Best Actress award at the 96th Oscars in Los Angeles this weekend.
The 36-year-old is nominated for her role as Agnes Hathaway in the film Hamnet, and has scooped various awards for her performance – including the Golden Globe, Critics Choice, BAFTA and IFTA.
Ms Moriarty says Jessie’s first acting role was just a decade ago in BBC’s War and Peace.
