The HSE South West is urging those eligible to get their winter vaccinations as soon as possible.
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are available for those aged 60 and over, as well as babies aged six months and older with an underlying medical condition.
Meanwhile, all healthcare workers, children aged 2-17 years, and all pregnant women are recommended to get the flu vaccine.
HSE South West specialist registrar in Public Health Medicine, Dr Rebecca Marshall says there’s already been a sharp rise in flu cases and people in hospital with the illness.
GPs and pharmacies are administering both vaccines.
