Group that created Glenbeigh fairy forest devastated by vandalism of popular tourist attraction

A community group that created a fairy forest in Glenbeigh says they are devastated by the vandalism of this popular tourist attraction.

Over 20 of the fairy houses along the fairy forest walk in at Curra, Glenbeigh were damaged beyond repair between last Saturday and Sunday.

The total cost of damage is estimated at €5,000.

The trail was developed by Glenbeigh Community Council and Tidy Towns nine years ago and the group are on site today assessing the damage.

Secretary of the community council, Vera O'Sullivan says so much hard-work went into creating and maintaining this amenity.

She hopes they can repair some of the fairy houses, but says many will need to be replaced:
