Gareth Sheridan says it’s a huge honour to have received the backing of Kerry County Council in his bid to contest the Presidential Election.
Kerry County Councillors met this morning and Independent councillor Niall Botty O’Callaghan proposed the council nominate Gareth Sheridan; this was seconded by Independent councillor Martin Grady.
As there was no counter proposal, Gareth Sheridan became the council's nomination.
This was the first nomination for the Dublin entrepreneur, who says he is grateful to the councillors for their vote of confidence.
In order to get his name on the ballot paper on October 24th, Mr Sheridan needs the support of three more local authorities.
In a video message on social media, Gareth Sheridan says support from Kerry County Council is a boost for his campaign:
