The Irish Times had reported that this was one line of enquiry being pursued by Gardaí.

A Garda spokesperson told Radio Kerry that they are investigating all matters in relation to establishing the facts surrounding the death of Mr Sheehan.

The results of the post mortem on Mr Sheehan are not being released for operational reasons but Gardaí are describing it as a criminal investigation.
