Gardaí are appealing for witnesses as part of their investigation into the unexplained death of a man in Killarney last night.

The man, who's aged in his 20s, was found unconscious outside a venue on the Muckross Road at 11.40pm.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Gardaí say they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the unexplained death.

The body of the man has been removed to University Hospital Kerry, where a post mortem is scheduled to be completed.

This post mortem will determine the course of the investigation.

The scene remains preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this matter to come forward.

They are also urging anyone with camera footage, including dash-cam footage, who were travelling in the Muckross Road area between 11pm and 11.45pm to make this footage available to them.
