Over €142,000 in funding has been announced for groups and clubs in Kerry under the Community Enhancement Programme (CEP).
The 2021 programme will provide small grants to assist in the re-opening of facilities such as community centres, men's and women's sheds, parish halls and youth centres.
The grants will range from a few hundred euro up to €10,000.
The announcement has been welcomed by Education Minister Norma Foley, who said the funding will support and enhance invaluable community groups to re-open their facilities post COVID-19.
Kerry Independent TD Danny Healy-Rae has also welcomed the funding.
The funding is administered locally by local community development committees (LCDCs) across the country, with support from local authorities.
