Four eco-activist groups from Kerry reach final of national environmental competition

Four groups of young eco-activists from Kerry have reached the final of a national environmental competition.

The Young Environmentalist Awards is an all-island programme that recognises and rewards young people who come up with innovative solutions to environmental issues.

The Climate Crew from Castleisland Community College reached the final of the awards in the biodiversity category, and the COVID 9-Team from Mercy Mounthawk Tralee are competing in the waste category.

Feabhsaigh Fast Fashion from the Gaelcholáiste and Sustainable Sem - Sensory Community Garden from St Brendan's College Killarney are both in the climate change category.

The winners will be announced virtually at the YEA ceremony (today/tomorrow) Wednesday, May 26th at 2pm on the ECO-UNESCO YouTube channel.
