A former White House chief of staff, NASA’s first chief economist and an executive director at INTERPOL will address the Global Economic Summit in Killarney next month (May).
The summit sees Irish and international business leaders and policymakers come together.
This year those attending will hear from leaders in cybersecurity, health economy, global trade and geopolitics.
This is the second year of the Global Economic Summit and organisers say it’s aiming to build on the success of last year which saw over 400 business leaders and policymakers gathering to develop fresh solutions to global challenges such as climate change and economic inequality.
Among the speakers this year are former Chief of Staff of the White House Mick Mulvaney, NASA’s first chief economist Alex MacDonald and executive director for partnerships and planning at INTERPOL Darrin Jones.
They’ll be joined by leading authority on deep fakes and disinformation Professor VS Subrahmanian of North Western University, Medical Humanitarian Specialist Dr Maria Guevara of Medecins Sans Frontieres, Taoiseach Míchéal Martin and European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection Michael McGrath, plus many more who will focus on globalisation, international conflict, health equity and the Gen AI revolution.
The conversations will range from unlocking opportunities in renewable energy, to the ethics of AI and the complexities of privacy and cybersecurity.
The Global Economic Summit will take place from May 26th to 28th this year in The Europe Hotel and Resort, Killarney.
