Former Tralee teacher is new president of Retired Teachers' Association

A woman who spent over 30 years teaching in Tralee is the new president of the Retired Teachers’ Association of Ireland.

Julie O’Connor, who’s originally from Sligo, taught in Holy Family National School, Ballonagh before she retired 14 years ago.

She’s been elected president of the Retired Teachers’ Association of Ireland (RTAI) which represents more than 10,000 former primary school teachers.
