Fewer people in Kerry have received the flu vaccine than elsewhere in the country

Despite appeals by the HSE, fewer people in Kerry have got the flu vaccine than elsewhere in the country.

That's according to specialist registrar in public health medicine with the HSE South West, Dr Rebecca Marshall.

The Department of Health and the HSE have renewed their appeals for people to get the flu vaccine as hospital admissions are expected to rise  this week (25/12/2025 - 01/01/2026).
