Fenit beach toy library closed for what’s described as continued irresponsible use

A popular Toy Library at Fenit beach has been closed for what’s being described as continued irresponsible use.

The initiative, at Locke’s Beach, aimed to provide the public with access to toys to use while at the beach, and return them after.

However, organisers say in the past six months, items were regularly being left on the beach and taken out to sea.

Mary O’Brien Browne, who is involved with the project, says this wasn’t helping their environmental goals and objectives of retaining Fenits' blue flag beach status.

She says they’re sad to see the toy library go, but it was of shared responsibility for all.
