An elderly couple were rescued after their car went off the pier on Valentia Island earlier today.
The multi-agency rescue effort was aided by locals, and involved the Valentia Lifeboat, Iveragh Coast Guard, the National Ambulance Service, and the Caherciveen Fire Service.
The car was recovered from the pier and the couple were physically unharmed
