Eight gardaí have been suspended on foot of claims of alleged corruption in the Munster region.
A garda spokesman's confirmed the eight members of the force were suspended yesterday, as a result of an ongoing investigation which is being led by Special Crime Operations.
The investigation is focused on corruption in public office.

Last October, mobile phones and documents were seized and a number of garda stations were searched as part of the probe.
