€72,000 allocated to three historic structures in Kerry

Over €70,000 has been allocated to three historic structures in Kerry.

The Historic Structures Fund offers grants for the refurbishment and conservation of heritage structures.

Ballymacelligott Church of Ireland will receive €20,000 for the repointing and repair of the stone facade of the tower; Lislaughtin Farmhouse in Ballylongford will receive a grant of €32,000 for works on the thatch roof and chimney; Aghadoe Coach House, Killarney has been awarded €20,000 in funding for repointing and grouting works.

The Minister for Education and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD Norma Foley is welcoming the announcement, adding the funding will also support the owners and custodians of these sites, safeguarding the sites for future generations.
