€2,600 of suspected cannabis jellies and cannabis herb have been seized by Gardaí in Tralee.
Gardaí are warning the public about the dangers associated with cannabis jellies and say they pose significant risk, particularly to children.
Gardaí from the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a house in Deerpark Manor, Tralee shortly after 6.30pm yesterday.
During the search Gardaí seized €1,400 of suspected cannabis herb and €1,200 of cannabis jellies.
Gardaí also seized a weighing scales and a number of zip lock bags. All of the suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
No arrests have been made but Gardaí say they are following a definite line of enquiry.
They are warning of the risk posed by cannabis jellies and say the packaging is very similar to other confectionaries and can be easily mistaken.
Gardaí say anyone who becomes unwell or if a young person consumes these products, they should seek medical attention immediately by calling 999 or 112.
