Deer culling in County Kerry would be "counterproductive" as many have been displaced by the wildfire at Killarney National Park.

That's according to the Irish Deer Commission which says deer, including many pregnant animals, have relocated to low land habitats after their feeding ground was destroyed.

The cuckoo bird, which had just arrived at the park last week, have had their eggs destroyed by the fire.
