Councillor Mikey Sheehy was responding to claims, made by the Kerry Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly, that there is no affordable housing in Kerry.
The Fianna Fáil councillor says although no one is currently living in such homes in Kerry at present, progress is being made at rolling out the Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme here.
Today is the closing date for developers to express interest in taking part in the county's first two affordable housing pilot schemes at Tralee and Killarney.

Cllr Sheehy says learnings from the two pilot projects will be used to roll out the scheme in other parts of the county:
