Elected Castleisland councillors say a one-way system needs to be introduced on a street in the town as a matter of urgency.
It follows a motion from Independent councillor Charlie Farrelly at the recent meeting of the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibne Municipal District.
He says a traffic system needs to be implemented along Old Chapel Lane before a pedestrian is injured by vehicles driving on the footpath.
Cllr Farrelly says there is a major problem along the road, which leads to Muire Gan Smál National School, at the junction to Main Street.
In response, Kerry County Council says the proposed one-way system is being considered as part of the Castleisland Masterplan.
The motion was seconded by Fianna Fáil councillor, Fionnán Fitzgerald.
