An independent councillor says drastic action needs to be taken to stop trucks from travelling along the L2030 road in Cordal.
Cllr Charlie Farrelly raised a motion at a recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD meeting.
He says if Arctic drivers travelling from North Kerry input Rosslare harbour they are directed via this route.

Cllr Farrelly outlined a recent incident where a truck jackknifed on the road, which blocked the route and caused serious delays.
He described this road as totally unsuitable for such vehicles, and says urgent action is required; suggesting efforts be made to ensure trucks travel the R577 instead.
