A Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District councillor has officially taken up his role as one of three Kerry representatives on the Association of Irish Local Government, or AILG.
Jackie Healy-Rae will join fellow councillors Tommy Cahill and Jimmy Moloney in attending AILG meetings, contributing to national policy positions, and supporting the ongoing professional development of elected members.
The AILG is the national representative body for Ireland’s 949 city and county councillors, providing training, support, and a strong voice in policy-making for local government.
Cllr Healy-Rae was appointed at the AILG AGM in Mullingar on Thursday and will replaces Cllr Charlie Farrelly, serving a four-year term.
