Castleisland to celebrate 800 years since town’s foundation next year

The history of Castleisland will be celebrated next year (2026) to mark 800 years since the foundation of the town.

An event will take place in early May and will celebrate the construction of the Castle and the foundation of the town back in 1226.

The Castleisland 800 event will include a history conference and a parade.
