Calls for Uisce Éireann to address lack of water infrastructure in mid Kerry

Uisce Éireann needs to address the lack of water infrastructure in mid Kerry.

That’s according to Fine Gael councillor Tommy Griffin.

He says Ballyoughtragh Heights in Milltown experienced nine outages since February and he also raised concerns around the capacity of the Barleymount Reservoir.

Following the recent fine weather overnight restrictions were introduced in the area to conserve water.

Cllr Griffin says there needs to be an urgent increase in capacity at the reservoir, as more houses are planned for the area and additional lands have also been zoned for housing.

He says a solution to the water capacity issues needs to be urgently identified by Uisce Éireann:
