There are calls for Kerry County Council to take urgent action for Scraggane Pier so it can access vital funding.

Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly says the fishing community in Scraggane would like to avail of Brexit Adjustment Reserve funding but only shovel-ready projects are being considered.

Deputy Daly wants the council to undertake the necessary studies, permitting and design reports for the pier so it can qualify for the funding.

He’s calling on the council to take action for this and other small piers so they’re not left behind as they try to survive the effects of Brexit and the pandemic.
