Banna lifeguard hut fire not believed to have been started maliciously

The fire at the lifeguard hut on Banna beach on Saturday morning is not believed to have been started maliciously.

Two fire engines were tasked to the scene at around 4am on Saturday morning and extinguished the fire.

No injuries were reported, and a garda forensic examination took place yesterday.

Following that investigation, it's now believed that the fire was not started maliciously, but was in fact accidental.
