Japanese pharmaceutical giant Astellas has come on board as a new sponsor for the Rose of Tralee Festival.
The announcement comes just over two weeks away from the beginning of this year’s festival, on 15th August.
The 2025 edition of the Rose of Tralee International Festival will take place from Friday 15th August to Tuesday 19th August.
32 Roses and their friends and families will be welcomed to the town for the five days, which will coincide with the streets festival Féile Thrá Lí.
The Rose of Tralee International Festival has today announced Astellas as a significant new sponsor.
The festival says this sponsorship demonstrates Astellas’ dedication to supporting events and initiatives at the heart of the local community, and underscores the positive impact the festival has on the local economy.
Astellas has had a base in Killorglin for more than 30 years, while it’s currently also building a new, state-of-the-art, €330 million facility in the Kerry Technology Park in Tralee.
The new building project has already created 530 construction jobs, with that set to rise to 600 in the coming weeks, while 120 jobs will be created when the facility is operational.
Astellas is currently recruiting for these highly specialised roles in engineering, science and technology.
Owen Moore, Head of Pharma Manufacturing at Astellas Tralee, said sponsoring the festival is an excellent opportunity for the company to support an event that has a hugely positive impact on the local community and economy.
Chief Executive of the Rose of Tralee Festival, Anthony O’Gara, said this is a fantastic endorsement of the festival’s legacy and future, and he’s delighted to have Astellas on board for this year’s festival.
