Almost €12,000 is allocated to Kerry County Council this year to promote biodiversity. Around €700,000 was made available to councils around the country

Almost €12,000 is allocated to Kerry County Council this year to promote biodiversity.

Around €700,000 was made available to councils around the country under The Local Authority Biodiversity Grant Scheme.

The Department for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht says the money will help biodiversity and heritage officers with local projects.

The current National Biodiversity Action Plan contains 119 actions mainstreaming biodiversity into decision making across all sectors.
