Almost 360 cases of COVID in Kerry in fortnight

Almost 360 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Kerry over a two-week period.

This is according to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, which has calculated the number of cases and the 14-day incidence rate of COVID-19 in all local electoral areas in the Republic.

From July 13th to 26th, there were 358 cases of COVID-19 recorded in Kerry.

Listowel Local Electoral Area had the highest amount of cases in the period at 98.

It gives the north Kerry region an incidence rate of 341 per 100,000 population.

That is just below the national average of 344.

Killarney LEA accounts for 93 cases for an incidence rate of 314; that is down from a rate of 361 in the previous week’s data.

Kenmare LEA had 55 cases for a rate of 219 and there were 51 cases in Tralee LEA to leave it with a rate of 154.

There is a rate of 262 in the Castleisland LEA after recording 45 cases.

Corca Dhuibhne recorded by far the fewest number of cases at 16 for a rate of 112.

Carndonagh in Donegal again had the highest incidence rate in the country at 2,800.
