17 Kerry competitors will take part in classes at the National Ploughing Championships this week.
The 94th annual National Ploughing Championships get underway today in Screggan, Tullamore, in County Offaly.
Later today, Derek O’Driscoll will compete in the Intermediate Conventional Plough Class, while Jonathan Trant will take part in the Under-40 Horse Plough Class.
Aeneas Horan will compete in the Vintage 2 Furrow Trailer, with Patrick Boyle, Tommy McCarthy, and Michael O’Halloran all in the Intermediate Reversible Plough Class.
Tomorrow, Martina Flynn will compete in the Farmerette Plough Class, with Stacey O’Sullivan in the National Novice Conventional Plough Class.
Donal Tydings will hope for success in the Junior Loy Digging, likewise Mike Brosnan in the Vintage 2 Furrow Mounted Plough Class.
Moss Trant will compete in the Senior Horse Plough Class on Wednesday, and the Special Horse Plough Class on Thursday.
Also on Thursday, Colm Dineen and Richard Mahony will compete in the Senior and Junior categories of the 3 Furrow Conventional Plough Match respectively.
Michael J Donegan and Michael P Donegan will take part in the Junior Conventional Plough Match, with James Collins in the Vintage Classic Plough Class.
Niall O’Hanlon will compete in the Standard 3 & 4 Furrow Reversible Plough Class.
