“More Carrot Than Stick”: Government’s U-Turn on SNAs – February 25th, 2026

Jerry spoke to Mick Clifford, special correspondent with the Irish Examiner about the Government’s disastrous handling of plans to reallocate special needs assistants. The Department of Education said initially this reallocation was to ensure that children with the greatest need for SNAs would benefit. However, after it emerged that some schools would face losing SNAs, the government first paused these plans and then did a complete U-turn.
