The truly legendary football manager and player Mick O’Dwyer from Waterville has died at the age of 88. In his extraordinarily successful career, he’ll be best remembered for leading Kerry to eight senior All-Ireland championships in the 1970s and 80s.
Kerry football greats Ogie Moran, Jimmy Deenihan, Mickey Ned O’Sullivan, and Mikey Sheehy, as well as chair of Waterville GAA club, Niall Moran, former Radio Kerry sports broadcaster Gary O’Sullivan, who was a friend of Micko’s, and another dear friend, Paddy Fogarty, paid tribute to an extraordinary man.
