Treatments That Do NOT Qualify for Tax Relief:
- Dental examinations and check-ups
- Scaling and cleaning
- Fillings
- Tooth extractions (unless surgical extraction of impacted wisdom teeth)
- Providing or repairing artificial teeth or dentures
Treatments That DO Qualify for Tax Relief:
- Crowns
- Veneers or Rembrandt-type etched fillings
- Bridgework
- Orthodontic treatment (braces and related treatments)
- Root canal treatment (endodontics)
- Periodontal treatment for gum disease
- Surgical extraction of impacted wisdom teeth (in a hospital or dental surgery)
- Implants (as part of periodontal treatment)
