Staff at Debenhams, whose outlets included Manor West in Tralee, manned picket lines for 406 days after the retailer suddenly closed and filed for liquidation in April 2020. They also found out that they would not be entitled to the redundancy package that had been initially promised to them. Yesterday, a former Debenhams worker won a case at the Workplace Relations Commission over the way she was made redundant. This could have implications for other former workers.
