Over the weekend, Tralee gardaí detected four men with dogs and lamps allegedly hunting hares on lands in North Kerry.
Hunting on land without the owner’s consent is an offence under the Wildlife Act, as is using lamps, lights, torches, or other artificial light to hunt protected wild birds or animals. John Bateman, chair of Limerick ICMSA (Irish Creamery and Milk Suppliers’ Association), was involved with bringing farmers and the gardaí in Limerick together in a way that dealt with this sort of problem and spoke to Joe.
