Tom Cournane of Tarmons East, Tarbert

Tom passed away peacefully, surrounded by his devoted family, at home in Tarmons on July 5th 2026. Tom is predeceased by his parents Michael and Catherine (nee Biggane). Tom will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife Margaret (Crean), sons Michael and Pádraig, daughters Áine and Ciara, sister Kit (Cantillon, Causeway), Pádraig’s partner Joanne (Murphy), Áine’s partner Patrick (Heaphy), his much doted over grandchildren Sarah, Amy, Cian, Flynn and Dean, brothers-in-law Patrick, John, Cannon Tom, Tim, The Most Reverend Bishop William, James and Pádraig, sister-in-law Marie (Fleming, Blarney), nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends, particularly those in both the farming and greyhound communities following a lifetimes involvement in both.

Rest in Peace

Tom will repose at Tarmons East (V31EC80) on this Tuesday evening (7th July) from 4pm until 8pm. A one way system will be in place, entering via the Tarbert to Listowel road at Tarmons Cross, Mangans Cross or Sheehans Cross and exiting via Ballygoughlin and BallyCulhane. Tom’s Funeral Cortege will depart Tarmons on Wednesday afternoon (July 8th) at 1:15pm to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Tarbert at 1:45pm where Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 2pm. Interment to follow in The Chapel Yard. Tom’s Requiem Mass can be viewed on www.stmarystarbert.com
