I knew Seamus from the late '80s when he lived in Leigh-on-Sea. He worked at my local record shop which I would visit on a weekly basis. He knew my tastes and would point out stuff for me to buy. He then worked at the most Bohemian bar in Southend - The Sun Rooms - which further established him as a (slightly wonky) pillar of the community! He was the warmest, most genuine man I, and I assume anyone who met him, knew. On the evening of his passing, a few of his friends and I had a drink at The Carlton in Leigh-on-Sea to celebrate his life, some of whom I hadn't seen for years. If anything, that showed how respected and loved Seamus was with us in Leigh. I will miss him very much. Thank you for being my friend, Shay xx

I was so deeply saddened to hear of Seamus’s passing.I first heard stories about him and Peter -tales of childhood antics growing up in Leigh that always made me smile. When I finally had the pleasure of meeting Seamus and staying with him in his home in Ireland with our children in tow, I instantly understood the warmth behind those stories.
Seamus had a rare and beautiful way of making everyone feel welcome. the children adored him-he was endlessly patient, gentle and kind, His quick wit and wicked sense of humour could light up a room, and he had the ability to make you at ease, as if you’d known him forever.
He was a clever thoughtful soul who gave so generously of himself. I’ll never forget the scotch eggs he made (still the best I’ve ever had ) or the comfort of his company. There was always something in his heartfelt smile and kind eyes that made you want to wrap him up in a massive cuddle.
I feel incredibly lucky to have shared moments ,laughter, and a few jars with him. His spirit will stay with all of us who were fortunate enough to know him.
With deepest sympathy and love
Janet

A kind, intelligent, and funny man. We met at Murts multiple times and always had great conversations. Thanks for the laughs and the good times.
