Gail O'Sullivan née Lovett, Glenlough, Kilgarvan and formerly of Gortrooskagh, Kenmare. 

Former Principal of Kilgarvan Central School. Gail passed away peacefully on 1st September surrounded by her loving family after a long illness borne with great strength and dignity in the wonderful care of the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry. Loving wife to Denis O’ Sullivan and dear mother to their son Eugene.

 

Deeply regretted by her parents Patrick and Sheila Lovett, sister Linda Williams (Dorset), and brothers Kevin & Stephen Lovett. Predeceased by her father-in-law Eugene. Sadly missed by her mother-in-law Peggy O’ Sullivan and sisters-in-law Anne Kenny (Ballymacelligott), Margaret O’ Sullivan (Galway), Fiona and Siobhan Lovett, Catherine O’ Sullivan, and brothers-in-law Martin Williams, Murt O’ Sullivan and Michael Kenny. Her nephews & niece Sean, Finlay, Sophie, Conor, Cian & Ronan, and her nephews & nieces-in-law Rachel, Claire, Eoghan, James, Alannah & Cara, aunt Mary (London), her many relatives, neighbours, friends, former colleagues and students.

 

May she rest in peace.

 

Reposing in Quill’s Funeral Home, Kilgarvan, Eircode V93 X048, on Wednesday, September 3rd from 5pm-8pm. Rosary at 8pm. Removal from her residence on Thursday, September 4th at 10.45am arriving at St Patrick’s Church, Kilgarvan for requiem Mass at 12 midday. Mass live streamed on Kilgarvan Parish Facebook page. Burial afterwards in local cemetery Kilgarvan.

 

Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry.

 

House strictly private at all times.

 

Gail’s husband Denis, their son Eugene and extended family would like to thank all those who cared for Gail throughout her illness, particularly Dr Maria Quille (An Neídin Practice, Kenmare), staff of Cork University Hospital (Mr. Chris Lim in Neurosurgery, Dr Laura Royo in Radiology, Dr Richard Bambury in Oncology and Clinical Nurse Specialist Katie Lynch). A special thank you to the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry for their kind and considerate care shown to Gail and her extended family over the past six weeks.

I remember Gail with great fondness for her kindness and generosity. She was always such an enthusiastic teacher and principal, radiating positivity and happiness. My sincere condolences to all Gail’s family, friends, former colleagues and students . May she rest with the angels.
