We were at school together in ‘The Sem’ in 1948/49, but met only occasionally thereafter. He was a gentleman - in every sense .

Is trua liom bhur chás agus tánn tocht ar mo chroi le h- īmeacht an t-Athair Phadraig. Bá chuid mhór dar saol an t-Athair. Bhaistigh an t-Athair mó dhearthair Phadraig. Dó phos sé mo bheirt dheirfiuracha len a bhfearraibh. Do phós sé mo dhearthair Donncha agus mé feinig len ár mnáibh. Do sheas mar athair bhaistì dar ínion Mairín D’fhreastal ar socraid ár Mathair D’ fhreastal ar thorramh ár n-athair. He was a man of infinite kindness, of gentle heart and a compassionate soul, who was always of great support to our mother, especially in her final days. He was of great solace and support to all the family in the trying times at the passing of our parents. He celebrated our weddings with joy and dignity and there was no one better to act as godfather to our daughter Mairín. In our family he was always Father Pá. A quiet word from Father Pá would always make one aware of the bigger picture and the passing journey that is life. Níl aon dabht ach do scriobh sé a scéal fein. His wisdom, his wit, his humour, his humility, And his great humanity will be sorely missed here ar an talamh, igceartlár a chomhluadar agus i gcroí lár an Phobail, MARBHNA ÁR N-ATHAR. “Tánn an tairseach trasnaithe Tánn foinse na fírinne faighte Tánn na treibheanna tagaithe Tánn ríocht na neimhe réidhe Le fáilte an Chruthaitheora a hur chuige ar an taobh eile tánn sé anios nìos congaraí Ná mar a bhì sé riamh. Beannacht Dé ar a anam dilis Ní bheidh a leithead ann arìs. He is only a prayer away. Mise le meas Micí Ó Sé
