Ellen (Nell) Griffin née O’Brien, Moyderwell, Tralee and formerly of Dromavalla, Ballyseedy;
Peacefully on May 26th 2026 at her home in her 104th year.
Ellen (Nell) is pre-deceased by her beloved husband Michael, her parents Michael and Ellen, sisters Mary and Margaret, brothers Mikey and Dan O’Brien and her nephew Michael Griffin.
Ellen (Nell) is the cherished mother of John and will be sadly missed by her loving family – her son, daughter-in-law Thérèse, grandsons Michael and Seán, great-grandchildren Seán and Eve, nieces Breda (Twomey) and Noreen (Hartnett) Brighton, nephews John, Michael and Denis Culloty, Chris and John Griffin and Gerard O’Brien, and their spouses, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, their spouses and partners, extended family, carers, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at McElligott’s Funeral Home, Tralee on Thursday May 28th from 6.00PM to 7.30PM.
On Friday May 29th Ellen (Nell) will repose at her residence in Moyderwell (V92 HKR2) from 4.00PM to 7.00PM. The funeral cortège will depart from her residence on Saturday morning May 30th at 9.30AM arriving to St. John’s Parish Church, Tralee at 9.40AM for Requiem Mass at 10.00AM followed by burial afterwards in New Rath Cemetery.
