Eddie McCarthy, Cragg, Farranfore; passed away peacefully on 27th January 2026, surrounded by his loving family at University Hospital Kerry. Pre-deceased by his parents, Tom and Kitty McCarthy, brother Patrick, sisters Helen and Betty, baby brother Thomas, grandson John-Joseph, nephews Gerard and Patrick. Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Mary, his adored children Catríona, Marie, Thomas, Ed, cherished grandchildren Shauna, Josh, Evan, Ben, Ali, Jayden, sons-in-law Ger (Foley), John (Ryan), Thomas’s partner Ags and Ed’s wife Elaine, brother John, sister Sheila, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, his loyal companion Daisy, family, friends and neighbours. Eddie’s family would like to thank most sincerely, doctors and staff at Brooklands Medical Centre, Castleisland, Dr. Mags Clifford and the staff of Palliative Care for always giving Eddie the care that he so deserved, Dr. Liam Chalke and all the doctors and nurses of the University Hospital Kerry.

Reposing at Killeentierna Parish Centre, Currow on Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm. Remains arriving at the Church of Saint Theresa & Saint Colmcille, Currans at 11.45am on Thursday for 12 noon Mass. Burial afterwards in Ardcrone Cemetery.
