€5.5 million is owed on land bought by Kerry County Council for housing in Listowel, but which is now undevelopable as it’s a flood plain. The two adjoining parcels of land at Castle Inch, one 3 acres, the other 6 acres, are next to housing developments and close to the River Feale. The CFRAM flood mapping programme has determined the land can’t be developed for housing. Fianna Fáil councillor John Francis Flynn is concerned.
