Celine Slattery who died yesterday at the age of 96 truly lived a full life. She moved to Tralee from Killarney as a teenager and became involved in many aspects of the town’s community, business, cultural and political scenes. Tralee Development Association, Tralee Tourism, the Rose of Tralee, and the Kingdom County Fair were among the organisations she was involved in. She was a fervent supporter of Fianna Fáil. Her friend Sean Lyons who was a member of Toastmasters with Celine pays tribute to her.
