Kerry County Council is to issue pilot licences to allow saunas to operate at Banna and Ballyheigue beaches. The council says, if suitable operators are available, a sauna service could be in place for this year’s bathing season, which runs from 1st June to 15th September. The sauna is an intrinsic part of Finnish life so Jerry spoke to Piia Lawlor and Tiina Norton of the Irish Finnish Society and the Irish Sauna Association. Jerry also spoke to Béibhinn O’Malley who runs Samhradh's Sauna in Cromane.
