Ban LNG: Mark Ruffalo and Environmentalists Protest Government Bill – October 9th, 2024

It’s expected by tonight that the Dáil will pass the Planning and Development Bill which would allow for liquefied natural gas facilities as ‘strategic infrastructure’. Separately, last week the High Court quashed An Bord Pleanála’s refusal to give Shannon LNG planning permission to build a liquefied natural gas terminal on the Tarbert Ballylongford landbank.  Hollywood star Mark Ruffalo posted a video on social media criticising the bill and calling on people to support a petition to ban LNG.
