Young Kerry people encouraged to take part in free youth choral projects

Young people in Kerry are being encouraged to take part in free youth choral projects.

It’s one of the first Creative Ireland Kerry initiatives – creating access for young people aged 6 to 18 to choir and youth choral music.

Choral workshops will begin in July and run until December in Caherciveen, Killarney, Tralee, and Listowel.

In South Kerry, they’ll be run by world class baritone Gavan Ring; professional vocalist and vocal coach Gemma Sugrue will take classes in Killarney; and music examiner, teacher, conductor and performer Anna Connolly will lead a North Kerry group in Listowel.

In Tralee, Director at the Kerry School of Music, Aidan O’Carroll has organised a taster session at the school on Culture Night September 22nd.
