Amy Yang leads the way at the US Women’s Open. She’s 7 under after a second round 66 and is 3 ahead of Shiho Oyama and Stacy Lewis. First in the John Deere Classic is Justin Thomas. 12 under following a 67, that’s a stroke better off than Johnson Wagner and Tom Gillis. A group of 4 are out in front after the opening round of the Champions Tour Encompass Championship. Lee Janzen, Brad Bryant, Fred Funk and David Frost are all 7 under. That’s one ahead of Rod Spittle, Jerry Smith, Craig Stadler and Mike Goodes. Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell are both in contention heading into the third round at the Scottish Open. As they continue their preparations for next week’s Open championship, the pair will both start in a share of second place on eight-under par behind England’s Daniel Brooks who has a three shot lead on 11-under. McDowell says that it’s important that he is still in the shake-up after today’s round [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/42544/medium/”] Michael Hoey and Padraig Harrington are also in today’s field. Hoey is on 5-under, while Harrington will be the first of the Irish players to tee-off when he resumes from 4-under par.
