Work to start late this year on new facility for Kerry hospice

It’s hoped that work will begin on a new extension to the Palliative Care Unit of Kerry General Hospital, later this year. Kerry General Hospital, Tralee Fundraisers with the Kerry Hospice have already raised three million of the four and a half million Euro cost of the new unit, which will include 15 en suite single rooms for patients with terminal illnesses. Architects will visit the site within the next fortnight, with planning permission being lodged and tenders being sought as soon as possible afterwards. Nursing Manager with the Suiamhneas Palliative Care Unit, Mari O’Connell, says the new facility will make a huge difference to both staff and patients at the hospice: [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/4661/medium/”]
